Iran seizes 2 Tankers smuggling Fuel in Persian Gulf

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy has seized two foreign oil tankers that were carrying smuggled fuel in the Persian Gulf.

The IRGC Navy’s public relations said the oil tankers, identified as ‘Star 1’ and ‘Vintage’, were two of the main vessels in the network of fuel smuggling.

The two oil tankers have been seized in a naval operation in the central waters of the Persian Gulf.

The two tankers, with 25 crew members, were involved in the organized smuggling of fuel, the IRGC said, adding that they were carrying a total of over three million liters of diesel.

The two oil tankers have been detected by the servicemen of the IRGC Navy’s second naval zone in Bushehr. The tankers have been confiscated under a judicial warrant and directed toward the oil dock of the southern port city of Bushehr where the smuggled fuel will be unloaded.
