Zelensky effectively admits Kiev not yet complying with ‘energy infrastructure ceasefire’

Ukraine will comply with the call to cease strikes on energy infrastructure facilities if a corresponding agreement is reached at the upcoming technical meeting with the United States in Saudi Arabia, Vladimir Zelensky said.

"If such an agreement is made, there will be a list of facilities. If the Russians don’t hit our facilities, we will certainly not hit their facilities," he said at a press conference following talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, answering a question about whether Ukraine will comply with the agreement to cease strikes on energy infrastructure.

Zelensky specified that "energy facilities, infrastructure facilities" should be included in the list of objects subject to the ceasefire. He also added that Kiev needs to work out a mechanism to monitor compliance with this ceasefire.

According to Zelensky, the "partial cessation" of strikes on infrastructure and energy, as well as the safety of maritime navigation will be discussed by technical experts at a meeting with US representatives in Saudi Arabia. He did not disclose when exactly the meeting would take place.
