Germany has updated the list of weapons it provided to the Kiev government to include, among other things, 24 Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPVs), one IRIS-T SLM missile, 50 Vector reconnaissance drones, and other arms.
The list, published by the German government, also includes ammunition for Leopard 1 tanks and Marder infantry fighting vehicles; three Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and 10,000 rounds for them; 5,000 artillery shells of 155mm caliber and 2,000 - of 122mm caliber. Additionally, Berlin sent to Kiev 30 Gereon RCS multipurpose tracked robotic modular platforms; 30 drone detection systems; two Wisent 1 mine clearing tanks with spare parts; and 100 portable mine-clearing systems H-PEMBS.
The shipment also includes 556 laser ranging devices, 255 IR binoculars, two border protection vehicles, 8,000 mortar rounds of 120mm caliber, 95 MK556 assault rifles, and 1,340 HK416 assault rifles, along with 487,000 first aid kits.
Germany is the second-largest arms supplier to Ukraine after the US. According to German government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit, Germany has provided 44 billion euros in various assistance to Ukraine since the start of the conflict. In the 2025 budget proposal, the country allocated 4 billion euros for the aid, half the amount it spent this year. However, the Bundestag has yet to approve the budget proposal.
