The US administration has demanded that Kiev withdraw its draft resolution to the UN General Assembly condemning Russia for its special military operation and the Ukrainian side refused, the Washington Post reported.
According to the newspaper’s sources, "the Trump administration has asked Ukraine to withdraw an annual resolution condemning" Russia’s special military operation, "and wants to replace it with a toned-down US statement that was perceived as being close to pro-Russian in Kiev."
The newspaper stressed that the "suggestion stunned Kiev, which refused to withdraw its resolution." It is expected that the Ukrainian side will submit it on Monday.
The United States wants the UN Security Council to vote on a brief draft resolution marking the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on Monday before the 193-member General Assembly votes on the same text, diplomats said on Saturday.
