Israel's goal is to turn the Gaza Strip into an uninhabitable territory, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said in Cairo during a meeting with UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process ad interim Sigrid Kaag.
"The goal of Israel is to make the Gaza Strip uninhabitable, thereby setting the stage for a scenario that is not only unacceptable but also a direct violation of international law," the WAFA news agency quoted the secretary-general as saying.
According to Aboul Gheit, "the forced displacement of Palestinians is an existential threat.".
