Five newborn babies have died from exposure to severe cold in the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian doctor said on Tuesday, highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis in the war-ravaged enclave.
Saeed Salah, Director of the Patient’s Friends Benevolent Society Hospital in Gaza, told Anadolu that nine infants had been hospitalized over the past two weeks due to health complications caused by extreme cold.
"Of the nine cases, five babies aged between one day and two weeks died," he said.
Salah added that one infant remains on a ventilator due to a critical health condition, while three others have been discharged.

Πέντε από τα νεογνά πέθαναν στη βόρεια Λωρίδα της Γάζας και το έκτο στη Χαν Γιουνίς, πόλη στο νότιο τμήμα του θύλακα.
Gaza’s civil defense agency said on Tuesday that six newborn babies have died in a cold snap which has gripped the war-ravaged Palestinian territory over the past week.
