The Houthis from Yemen's rebel Ansar Allah movement have used a hypersonic missile to hit an Israeli airbase in the Negev Desert, the movement’s military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said.
"Missile troops of the Yemeni armed forces conducted a military operation and attacked the Nevatim Airbase in Negev in the south of occupied Palestine with a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile," he was quoted as saying by the Houthi-owned Al Masirah television channel.
According to Sarea, the missile "successfully hit its target."
On Friday morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that a missile fired from Yemen was intercepted.
The United States and the United Kingdom have delivered two airstrikes on the Yemeni Al Hodeidah governorate controlled by the Ansar Allah (Houthi) rebel movement, a Houthi source said.
"Today, American and British warplanes attacked infrastructure facilities in the south of the Al Hodeidah governorate," he said.
"Local residents reported two strikes in the vicinity of the settlement of al-Tuheita."
