The European Parliament has adopted a resolution calling on European Union member states to lift restrictions that currently prevent Ukraine from using Western weapons on legitimate military targets in Russia.
MEPs in Strasbourg voted in favour of the resolution.
In total, 425 voted in favour, 131 against and 63 abstentions.
In addition, the EU member states and NATO allies are asked to "collectively and individually commit to supporting Ukraine militarily, with no less than 0.25% of their GDP annually.
At the same time, the European MPs urge the EU countries not to cut financial aid and to be prepared to deliver humanitarian aid to Ukraine "for years to come."
