United States told Israel that it would support it in a war with Hezbollah, would not deploy American troops in the zone

The United States has assured Israel that they are ready to support it in the event of a full-scale war with the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, CNN reported, citing an unnamed senior American official.

Earlier, CBS News reported that US officials are concerned that Israel could start a war with the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah and could not cope without American support.

 The official told the television station that the assurances were conveyed to the Israeli delegation during its visit to Washington this week.

 According to sources, the meeting with Biden administration officials discussed the situation on Israel's northern border, Iran, as well as negotiations for a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

According to the American official, while expressing its readiness to provide Israel with the necessary assistance in the event of a war with Hezbollah, the United States nevertheless stated that it would not deploy American troops in the zone of a possible conflict.
