Yemen’s Houthis announce ban on passage of all ships en route to Israel if the Gaza Strip does not receive food and medicine

The ruling Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement in northern Yemen has expressed its readiness to allow all ships in the Red and Arabian Seas to pass, except those associated with Israel, said Yahya Saria, a spokesman for the movement's armed forces.

“The Yemeni Armed Forces reaffirm their full commitment to continue global trade traffic through the Red and Arabian Seas for all vessels and for all countries, with the exception of vessels associated with Israel or that will transport goods to Israeli ports,” Saria said during the speech. which was broadcast by Arab TV channels.

 In addition, a Houthi spokesman said the movement would ban the passage of all ships heading to Israel “if the Gaza Strip does not receive food and medicine.”
