Biden calls impeachment inquiry by House Republicans 'stunt'

President Joe Biden on Wednesday said that Republicans in the US House of Representatives were focused on attacking him "with lies" after they voted on Wednesday to formally authorize their ongoing impeachment inquiry into the president.

In a statement released by the White House, Biden called the inquiry a "baseless political stunt."

The Republican-controlled House voted 221-212 on Wednesday to approve the investigation, which is examining whether Biden improperly benefitted from his 53-year-old son Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings.
