Four feared dead after Australian military helicopter crashes into Pacific

Australia has paused a military exercise with the United States after a helicopter crash left four aircrew missing.
The Australian Defence Force MRH-90 Taipan helicopter crashed into waters off the northeastern state of Queensland at around 10:30pm on Friday (12:30 GMT), Defence Minister Richard Marles said.

  1. Joint military exercises between Australia and the United States were paused on Saturday after an Australian Defense Force (ADF) helicopter involved in the war games crashed into the ocean off the coast of Queensland state.

    At least four people were fear dead after the crash, which occurred when the helicopter ditched into waters close to Hamilton Island, about 890km (550 miles) north of state capital Brisbane, late Friday.
