The [so-called] "Syrian Observatory for Human Rights" has reported that Turkish forces have penetrated deeply into the western countryside of Kobani, targeting the Kurdish People's Protection Unit's (YPG).
Turkey recognizes the YPG as the Syrian extension of the outlawed Turkey-based Kurdistan Worker's Party that it deems as a terrorist organization.
Turkish engineering teams accompanied the military forces and began digging trenches, raising barrier and building walls to secure the countryside.
The invading forces also targeted the YPG in the Jaregli area of Kobani countryside.
