US President Donald Trump wants a new 20% tax on all imports from Mexico to pay for a wall on the southern US border, White House spokesman Sean Spicer has told reporters.
So far, no details are available on how the tax would work, but Mr Spicer said Mr Trump wanted it to be part of a tax reform package that the US Congress is contemplating.
The announcement comes after Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has said he will not travel to the US for a planned meeting with Mr Trump amid the growing dispute over the wall.
