Turkey and Russia have agreed on a ceasefire proposal that would apply nationwide in Syria, the state-run Anadolu news agency reports.
According to the report, an anonymous source said that he agreement would extend the truce in Aleppo to the rest of Syria, but excludes terror groups.
If Damascus and the opposition accept the proposal, the ceasefire would go into effect Wednesday night at midnight, and if it holds would pave the way for peace talks brokered by Russia and Turkey to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, said Anadolu.
A Syrian rebel source, who asked not to be named, told AFP in Beirut that details still had to be submitted to the rebel groups and said there was no agreement as yet.
Anadolu reported that Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has stated his "readiness" to assist in ending the five-year civil war.
There was no immediate official confirmation of the plan from Moscow or Ankara.
