Turkish Airlines has canceled some flights to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq due to the closure of airspace in the region, the company said in a statement on Dec. 7.
Some, but not all, flights on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 to Arbil and Sulaymaniyah have been canceled, the statement said.
This is the second time in about two weeks the KRG has temporarily closed its airports at the request of Baghdad due to military traffic in the framework of Russia’s air campaign in Syria.
Turkish Airlines said passengers can get updates with the latest flight information by visiting the airline’s website or by calling 444-0849 in Turkey.
