Top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un recently watched an anti-aircraft rockets drill of the Korean People's Army (KPA) units in western front, the official KCNA news agency reported Tuesday.
According to the state-run media, the drill aimed to "inspect technological readiness of the modernized anti-aircraft rockets and capability of the anti-aircraft units...and seek ways of studying and developing varieties of new type anti-aircraft rockets."
Kim stressed the need to develop more new-type anti-aircraft rockets to meet modern warfare requirements, in order to protect the country from air strikes.
The report did not mention the specific date when the drill was carried out.
Officials accompanying Kim included Director of the KPA General Political Bureau Hwang Pyong So and Chief of the KPA General Staff Ri Yong Gil.
