There was no immediate word on where the two bodies were recovered.
Earlier, authorities found four bodies in the water and the body of one Greek man was recovered Sunday from a lifeboat chute.
Authorities said that the evacuation was completed in the early afternoon, with a total of 414 people rescued from the ferry boat. The captain was the last to leave.

"Tous les passagers évacués, neuf membres d'équipage encore à bord pour inspecter le navire", ont affirmé les garde-côtes sur leur compte Twitter. Le Norman Atlantic transportait 478 personnes, 56 membres d'équipage et 422 passagers. (Belga)

ReplyDeleteSix Bulgarian nationals have been rescued from the Norman Atlantic ferryboat in the Adriatic Sea, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry said. The Italian-flagged ferry, sailing from the Greek port of Patras to the Italian port of Ancona, caught fire over the weekend and sparked an international rescue operation.
Two Bulgarians had been rescued late on December 28 and two more were evacuated on the morning of December 29, having been taken on board a Maltese ship participating in the rescue operation, the ministry said in a statement. Eight dead, 427 rescued on blaze-hit ferry, doubt over passenger list ...
ReplyDeleteItaly said Monday that the number of dead recovered after a car ferry caught fire in the Mediterranean had risen to eight and that 427 people had been rescued.
The total of 435 leaves 43 people unaccounted for when compared to the names on the passenger list. However, officials said they could not be sure the list was accurate.

Tous les passagers du ferry ont annoncé lundi les gardes-côtes italiens. Selon deux ministres italiens, le bilan s'établirait désormais à huit morts, sur les 478 personnes que transportait l'embarcation. Les deux ministres mettent nénamoins en garde sur le nombre de passagers qui se trouvaient à bord. La liste d'embarquement du Norman Atlantic fait état de 478 personnes, 56 membres d’équipage et 422 passagers.

ReplyDeleteSono otto i morti nel rogo della nave Norman Atlantic andata a fuoco domenica al largo dell'Albania. In salvo 427 persone, tra cui i membri dell'equipaggio (e due cani). Ma la stampa greca perla di 38 dispersi. Anche il comandante Argilio Giacomazzi ha lasciato il traghetto dopo essere rimasto solo a bordo insieme a quattro ufficiali della marina militare. Recuperati i corpi delle vittime accertate.
Ancora 38 dispersi: è questo il bilancio provvisorio del naufragio secondo l'edizione online del settimanale greco To Vima, considerato tra i più autorevoli. «Non ci pronunciamo sulla questione dei dispersi: fare previsioni sul numero ci sembra assolutamente prematuro», hanno detto i ministri Lupi e Pinotti in conferenza stampa. «Il punto incerto è se c'è qualcuno che nelle fasi concitate della messa a mare della scialuppa, sia caduto in mare. In maniera cautelativa ci siamo mossi partendo dalla lista ufficiale. Disastro Norman, il comandante: "Avrei voluto portare tutti a casa" ...

Sono le prime parole che Argilio Giacomazzi, comandante del traghetto Norman Atlantic - a bordo del quale domenica scorsa è divampato un incendio che ha provocato 11 morti accertati -ha rivolto ai giornalisti fuori dalla sua abitazione sulle colline de La Spezia, dove è rientrato nella notte, dopo l'interrogatorio durato più di cinque ore presso la procura di Bari. "Sono molto stanco - ha detto il comandante - e non chiamatemi eroe. I complimenti non fanno per me, non servono". Giacomazzi, che soffre ancora di una lieve intossicazione per aver respirato il fumo dopo l'incendio sul suo traghetto, e di alcune lesioni patite durante il naufragio, ha ribadito di aver bisogno di riposo.
