Syrian opposition in Istanbul called on international community to hear the voice of the Syrian people amid fears that opposition-held Aleppo which is about to fall to the Assad regime forces, namely because of the presence of ISIL in the region.
The Syrian National Coalition held its general assembly in Istanbul on Monday to discuss the military changes in Syria, in the second of a three-day event that started on Sunday.
"We have suffered from terrorism of Assad and now we are suffering from the terrorism of ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and Levant)," said the president of local council of Aleppo, Abdurrahman Dadam.
"The situation has become more complicated and difficult after ISIL took control of the some parts of Aleppo,” another member of the Syrian opposition, Hasan Hashimi added. Syrian people live in agony; they get tortured and killed by ISIL. People are the most affected by ISIL's practices.”
Jalal ad-Din Khanchi, a member of the Syrian National Coalition, added that Assad forces had only 8 kilometers left to go before entirely taking control of Aleppo.
Syria has been gripped by almost constant fighting since the regime launched a violent crackdown in response to anti-government protests in March 2011, triggering a conflict, which has spiraled into a civil war.
