Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign
Minister Evangelos Venizelos expressed his deep concern at the
escalation of violence in the eastern regions of Ukraine and the tragic
deaths of dozens of people in Odessa and other cities.
“The security of all the citizens of Ukraine is the first condition for seeking solutions that ensure the participation of all the regions and all the political, social and ethnic forces in a credible framework of democracy, rule of law, and respect for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Mr. Venizelos stressed.

The Greek embassy in Kiev and the Consulates General in Mariupol and Odessa are monitoring the situation on the ground and are in ongoing contact with the Federation of Greek associations in the region and the members of the associations.

ReplyDeleteΑυτό υπογραμμίζεται σε ανακοίνωση του υπουργείου Εξωτερικών, όπου επισημαίνεται επίσης η δήλωση «βαθειάς ανησυχίας» του αντιπροέδρου και υπουργού Εξωτερικών Βαγγέλη Βενιζέλου για την κλιμάκωση της βίας στις ανατολικές περιοχές της χώρας.
Ειδικότερα, ο Βαγγέλης Βενιζέλος υπογράμμισε πως «πρώτη προϋπόθεση για την αναζήτηση λύσεων στην Ουκρανία είναι η ασφάλεια όλων των πολιτών της χώρας. Μόνον έτσι», παρατήρησε ο υπουργός Εξωτερικών, μπορεί να υπάρχει «η συμμετοχή όλων των περιοχών, των πολιτικών, κοινωνικών και εθνοτικών δυνάμεων μέσα σε ένα αξιόπιστο δημοκρατικό πλαίσιο, με σεβασμό στο κράτος δικαίου, την κυριαρχία και την εδαφική ακεραιότητα της χώρας».
